A regular scale tells us our relationship to gravity. Body Impedance Analysis gives a much clearer picture of how that weight is distributed in our bodies. It tells us our body composition.
Body Composition
Your body consists of total body water both internal and external, dry mass, lean mass and body fat. These components are proportionate to one another in a healthy body and out of proportion in a body that is overweight or underweight. With the use of a Body Impedance Analysis Scale, you understand how much of your weight is water, how much is muscle, how much is fat and how much is basically skin and bones. Based upon the information gathered it will also tell us how many calories you burn daily when at rest.
This is an incredibly valuable tool to track your progress over time and we are fortunate to offer the ability to measure body composition with the use of Body Impedance Analysis equipment at Southern Oregon Bariatric Center.
